New Motor Dedication
All critical characteristics testing will be performed by United Controls
International, an outside testing facility, the motor manufacturer, or
motor repair/testing facility under the direct control of UCI. Based on
the safety-Related function of the motor, the critical characteristics
have been determined to be:
- Markings and identification (i.e. nameplate data)
- Materials/Physical Properties or Appearance (i.e. enclosure
material, shaft material, weight, etc.)
- Dimensions
- Mechanical Functional Attributes (i.e. full-load speed, full-load
horsepower, speed-torque characteristics, acceleration time,
bearing vibration, bearing temperature, etc.)
- Electrical Functional Attributes (i.e. insulation integrity,
winding resistance, full load amps, etc.)
- Functional Acceptance Testing Method. Reasonable assurance
that the motor possess these characteristics shall be verified
in accordance with the requirements of CGDS-226.
- In addition, when parts and/or materials are necessary to
provide reasonable assurance for proper functioning of the
motor, technical evaluations will be performed in accordance
with the requirements of UCI procedure QCP-3.4. Dedication
of rewind materials will be performed in accordance with CGDS-179.
